Ingredients

  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp garlic chili sauce
  • 2 Tbsp ginger minced
  • 1 lb lean ground pork
  • 1 cup carrot finely diced
  • 1 cup mushrooms finely chopped
  • 1 cup green onions finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 12 lettuce leaves Butter lettuce or Iceberg

Preparation

  1. In skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil and chili sauce until fragrant. Add ginger and cook one minute. Add lean ground pork and brown completely, breaking up pork with spatula.
  2. Drain fat and add carrot and mushrooms, cook until carrots are tender crisp, about 5 minutes. Stir in green onions, hoisin sauce and water and cook 1 minute more. Remove from heat.
  3. To assemble, scoop 1/4 cup of the pork mixture into each lettuce leaf and wrap tightly, tucking in ends.
  4. Serve with peanut dipping sauce or plum sauce.
