Bringing Alberta Pork to the Taste of Stampede

 

There’s nothing quite like the Calgary Stampede when it comes to celebrating great food, great people, and Alberta agriculture. This year, Alberta Pork was proud to be part of the Taste of Stampede, sponsoring two days of culinary programming on July 7 and July 10, 2026.

Held in the BMO Centre, Taste of Stampede is a free, family-friendly experience where visitors can discover Alberta’s incredible food story through live cooking demonstrations, chef competitions, community cook-offs, and interactive experiences. Each day highlights a different Alberta commodity, putting local ingredients front and centre while showcasing the connection between agriculture, food production, and the meals we enjoy every day.

Pork Takes Centre Stage

 

As the featured ingredient on both of our sponsored days, Alberta pork was transformed into delicious dishes by some of Alberta’s most talented chefs. Guests watched live culinary demonstrations packed with cooking tips and recipe inspiration before enjoying samples fresh from the stage.

Guests also enjoyed the excitement of the Culinary Cup, Calgary Stampede’s newest culinary competition. Alberta’s top chefs competed in a high-energy, bracket-style tournament for a $10,000 championship title. Showcasing both innovative and classic cooking techniques, the competition highlighted the incredible talent of Alberta’s culinary community while transforming premium local ingredients—including Alberta pork—into unforgettable dishes.

Connecting People Through Food

 

One of the things we love most about Taste of Stampede is that it’s about much more than cooking. The event celebrates Alberta’s farmers, ranchers, and food producers by giving visitors the chance to learn where their food comes from and meet the people behind it. From discovering new recipes to learning about local ingredients, every demonstration helps build a stronger connection between consumers and Alberta agriculture.

For Alberta Pork, it was a wonderful opportunity to share just how versatile, flavourful, and easy pork can be to prepare—whether you’re grilling in the backyard, cooking a quick weeknight dinner, or trying something new in the kitchen.
